Greetings,

Kristine Vike acquired her Ph.D. in environmental chemistry in the fall of 2021, by which time she was frustrated by learning how much and how loud scientists have been shouting about our impact on the planet since the 1960s.
Changing tactics rather than adding one more voice to the choir that seems to be largely ignored, Kristine decided instead to focus more on her love for sewing, history, and sustainable living, with the occasional deep-dive into the more scientific side of things with the mandatory addition of imposter syndrome.
She hopes that by learning and showing practical examples of spending fewer resources in a visual and entertaining way, she might inspire others to try similar things. It helps that she has always enjoyed making things and feels most at home when in the process of creating something or other.
This culminated in starting a YouTube channel where various different projects show up at somewhat random intervals. It did not take her long to realize that storytelling through video brought much joy and satisfaction. She decided to take the plunge into full-time creation and has not looked back since. The focus remains mainly on making historically inspired garments or household items, deep dives into textile sustainability aspects, and historical experiments.
So here we are. Making things, learning things, and sharing the journey along the way.
We hope you’ll stay a while. 🫖
Best wishes,
Kristine and the cats 🐈⬛
